A city nestled in lush greenery, Singapore is a place of contrasts; 21st century architecture sits alongside traditional village markets and history rubs up against a high tech future. Based for three nights at the centrally-located 5* InterContinental Hotel, you will have ample time to soak up the atmosphere of this remarkable city.

Flowers and gardens

Our tour is timed to coincide with the biennial Singapore Garden Festival, now one of the world’s leading garden shows. This eight day extravaganza features some 400,000 plants designed to demonstrate the very best in tropical gardening and attracts award-winning landscape and garden designers, florists and horticulturalists from around the world.  A key highlight of the 2020 Festival will be the Floral Windows to the World Championships, an intense three-day competition featuring vibrant cut-flower displays and theatrical floral installations by some of the world's leading floral designers.

Super Trees Singapore

The city is also home to the landmark attraction, Gardens by the Bay and the award-winning cooled conservatories of Bay South. Here you find the Flower Dome with its ever-changing floral displays such as Tulipmania, Orchid Extravaganza and Blossom Beats, and the mysterious mountain world of the Cloud Forest. And of course, no one can miss Singapore's towering vertical garden Supertree Grove.

Singapore Gardens by the Bay Super Trees

Those with a head for heights may like to stroll along the 22m high Skyway built in these iconic 'trees' and enjoy panoramic views of the Gardens and Marina Bay skyline.

Botanic Gardens Of Singapore

Singapore’s 160 year-old Botanic Garden is another of the city's green gems. This tropical sanctuary is the first - and only - UNESCO World Heritage listed tropical botanic garden and is a unique example of the informal English Landscape Movement style in an equatorial climate.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

The National Orchid Garden, with its 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids, has been part of the Botanic Garden since 1859 and we have arranged for you to enjoy a private tour with one of the Garden's botanic experts.

Culture & Sightseeing

Singapore China Town

Discover the highlights of Singapore on a guided tour. You will visit Thian Hock Keng Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in the city, the vibrant district of Kampong Glam, home to the colourful Haji Lane with its quirky boutiques, cafes and bars and Arab Lane, a pretty, bustling street at the heart of Singapore's Islamic community.   We have also arranged for you to see the Chinatown Heritage Centre. Located within three beautifully-restored shophouses on Pagoda Street, this fascinating museum offers a rare glimpse into the lives of Chinatown's early residents. And of course, no trip to Singapore would be complete without a sightseeing cruise on a Bum Boat. These vessels have been a feature of the Singapore River for over a century and this evening tour provides a unique view of the city past and present.

Singapore Quay Bum Boat Ride

One of the treats of modern Singapore is the spectacular Light & Water Show at Marina Bay Sands and the boat arrives at Bayfront South Jetty in time for you to experience this magical display.

You will also be treated to a classic afternoon tea at the iconic Fullerton Hotel. Built in 1928, this grand neoclassical landmark has played a pivotal role in Singapore’s rich history, being once home to Singapore’s General Post Office, the Exchange Room and Exchange Reference Library, and the prestigious Singapore Club.

We have also arranged an optional visit to Night Safari, the world's first nocturnal zoo. Spread across seven distinct habitats, it offer visitors the chance to see night time creatures in action in their dimly-lit habitats.

Singapore Garden Festival displays

Established in 2006 as a celebration of the city's gardens, the biennial Singapore Garden Festival is now one of the world's leading garden shows, attracting award winning landscape and garden designers, florists and horticulturalists. The 2018 Festival transported visitors to an exotic wonderland. Designers came from Austria, Azerbaijan, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Republic of Korea, Romania and Spain, as well as Singapore and floral highlights included Dmitry Turcan's sculptural, Asian-inspired installation 'Seize the Moment', which was named 'Best in Show', and Keith Lin's Bronze Award winning suspended, colour-graded design 'Possibilities'.

A key highlight of the 2020 Festival will be the Floral Windows to the World Championships, an intense three-day competition featuring vibrant cut-flower displays and theatrical floral installations by some of the world's leading floral designers. Other themes and events are still to be announced - we will update this page as news is released.

Hanoi

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. You will spend three nights at the 5* InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, an ideal base to both relax and explore this exciting city.

Your time here begins with a French fusion dinner at Ngon Villa. Built in 1889 for a French army captain, the Villa is a blend of French and Vietnamese styles with red brick walls and a bamboo base. Now restored to its former glory, this historic landmark is the perfect setting to enjoy recipes that have been passed down through the generations.

The food theme continues on day two, with a Hanoi Street Food Walking Tour. Join a local guide for a fascinating tour through the narrow streets of Hanoi Old Quarter, sampling local delicacies and street food as you go. You will also have ample time to shop.

Vietnam has undergone major changes since the start of the 20th century, changes which have been documented by the country’s artists. We have arranged an optional art tour of the city, specially tailored for this programme, to give you a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s modern and contemporary history. You will visit a variety of private collections, museums and contemporary art spaces.

70 miles outside Hanoi is the mystical, watery beauty of the Tam Coc “three caves” region, a miniature landlocked version of Ha Long Bay. Here you will take one hour trip in a traditional Sampan, meandering through towering karst hills in a flooded landscape where river and rice paddies merge. The journey ends at the three long, dark tunnel-caves of Hang, Hang Giua and Hang Cuoi, which have been eroded through the limestone hills. You will also visit the Thai Vi Temple, a short walk from the river. Dating from the thirteenth century and dedicated to the founder of the Tran Dynasty, this is a peaceful, atmospheric spot. We have included an optional 20 minute bike ride to the ancient tiered Bich Dong Pagado on the way back.

Hu Long Bay

One of the ‘New Seven Wonders of Nature’, Ha Long Bay’s beautiful seas and impressive islands have remained unchanged for centuries and the best way to experience this extraordinary place is from the water. We have arranged for you to join the two day Sea Life Legend cruise, which combines the Bay's magnificent scenery with a taste of Vietnam's rich traditional culture. You will see Da Chong islet, home to a lighthouse built by the French over 100 years ago; the amazing limestone islets of Con Vit and Gia Luan, as well as the Ba Trai Dao beach area of Lan Ha Bay with its forested islands. Here you will have the chance to take a trip in a traditional coracle (the tiny craft used by fishermen for centuries), or go for kayak or a swim in the crystal clear waters of the bay.

Once you have watched the sun set over the Gulf of Tonkin with a Happy Hour drink, you can try your hand at squid fishing, join a traditional cooking class where the on-board chef will show you how to make some traditional Vietnamese dishes, watch a film or simply relax in the luxurious surroundings of the boat.

After a night aboard, why not rise early to see the Bay at its very best whilst enjoying an invigorating Tai Chi session on the sundeck? After breakfast, you will continue your journey and head out in canoes to explore the bay around the Toi Sang cave before cruising back to the Dinh Vu Port.

The boat itself has 23 suites, each with a private balcony and ensuite bathroom boasting a bath with a view! There are also two triple occupancy suites and a sumptuous Presidential suite which can be booked for an additional fee.

Phu Quoc

This Vietnamese island off the coast of Cambodia in the Gulf of Thailand is known for its idyllic beaches, evergreen forests and tranquil atmosphere. The northern part of the island is a UNESCO-listed national park, while the southern coastline is dotted with luxurious beach resorts. One of the best of these is the 5* InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, where you will spend three nights. Relaxation is the main focus here, but we have also arranged a half day tour of the island with a local guide. You will learn about traditional industries on visits to a wine distillery, pepper farm, fish sauce factory and pearl farm and also visit Cao Dai Temple and Ho Quoc Pagoda, the island’s largest Buddhist temple which sits at the base of a lush mountain facing the sea and the rising sun.

5* InterContinental Middle Hill Singapore
