The annual Keukenhof festival of seven million spring-flowering bulbs is one of the world’s most spectacular floral events. Students will be able to explore over 80 acres of parkland planted with extraordinary displays of anemones, daffodils, freesias, hyacinths and 800 different types of tulips and also visit exhibition pavilions showcasing exciting new varieties and innovative examples of floral artistry.

Auctions are a key part of the floriculture business and with 20 million flowers moving through its halls every day, FloraHolland is the largest in the world and you have the opportunity to experience the buzz and excitement of the international flower trade firsthand. 

FleuraMetz

FleuraMetz is one of the world's leading suppliers of plants, flowers and floral sundries, trading with florists across Europe and North America. Students on this tour have the chance to visit the Aalsmeer HQ where they will witness the complex process of packing and sorting thousands of floral orders in action.

Orchid experts Ansu Vanda Orchid, home of the beautiful Vanda orchids, known as the ‘jewel amongst the orchids’, you will learn how it is cultivated as a cut flower for flower arranging, and as flowering plant.  

Floral Workshop with Astrid Van den Berg

We have been bringing floristry students to meet celebrated florist Astrid Van den Berg at the renowned Van den Berg Greenhouses for over a decade and her workshops and demonstrations never fail to inspire. You will enjoy a lively chat with Astrid about the floral industry while enjoying a 2.5 hour workshop.  

You will be staying 2 nights at 4* Van der Valk Breukelen Hotel, ideally located for this tour in the municipality of Utrecht. Van der Valk offers comfortable rooms and a  wellness centre with an indoor pool, fitness centre, and sauna which can be used free of charge. 

Van de Valk is known for its impressive buffet breakfast which includes fresh juice, pastries, bread, cheese, eggs, fruit, yogurt, coffee, a selection of teas, and more! Your stay includes breakfast. 

Van der Valk Hotel Breukelen in-house restaurant offers a delicious a la carte menu, from burgers and fish to soups and salads carefully prepared and adapted to use seasonal produce. They also offer both vegetarian and vegan options.
