Oberammergau Passion Play

The Oberammergau Passion Play is an epic play of life and death, promised in a moment of mortal threat. So began the history of the Oberammergau Passion Play in 1633, an event that has become a remarkable and enduring expression of Christian faith and a special commemoration of the birth of Christ.
The Passion Play lasts for approximately 4 hours with a 3 hour interval.
Staged Once Every 10 Years
Last held in 2000, the Passion Play is only staged once every 10 years; so don't miss this unique opportunity. To make this into a truly special occasion, we have combined the visit to Oberammergau with a tour of the breath-taking Tyrol Valley.
Tyrol Valley Tour
In addition to entrance to the Oberammergau Passion Play, our 6 day itinerary includes a guided walking tour of the beautiful city of Salzburg and a city tour of Innsbruck.
ECT has secured rooms in small, traditional pensions and guest houses close to Oberammergau, for your convenience. These are located between 8.5 - 15kms from the centre of the village and we will, of course, ensure that you are transported to and from the Passion Play.
The coach also travels through the magnificent Tyrol valley and accommodation is provided in authentic French and Austrian hotels, such as the Hotel Plankenhof, Tyrol.
