Bonn Christmas Market
23rd November - 23rd December 2012, Sunday 25th November closed
Treat yourself to mulled wine, hot mead and some hot roasted chestnuts at the illuminated festive Christmas market in Bonn.
Bonn was the former capital of West Germany and birth place of Beethoven. It is an elegant city located on the River Rhine, with a very attractive shopping centre.
From the beginning of December, the beautiful old town hall is transformed into an enormous Advent calendar, with one more window being lit up each day. There are Christmas concerts and a daily programme of events to enjoy.
Christmas shopping calls for Christmas markets, and Bonn with its classical music and Christmas lights, has just the right atmosphere and the right spirit to go with them.
Shop at Münsterplatz, Bottlerplatz Windeckstrasse, Friedensplatz and Vivatsgasse, where you'll find everything you need in the way of food and Christmas gifts.
Along with the traditional mulled wine, hot mead and chestnuts, you can even purchase beeswax candles directly from the bee-keeper.
To make the most of the Christmas spirit, there is a 280-square-meter ice rink at Friedensplatz.
