Often cited as one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world, Budapest sits on both sides of the river Danube and has been called the Paris of Central Europe.
In the Castle district you will find the Royal Palace which now incorporates the Budapest History Museum and the Hungarian National Gallery.
You can pay a visit to Trinity Square where you will find the Mathias Church with its gothic tower. The church is over 700 years old and one of the most photographed sites in Hungary.
If you feel adventurous you might wish to explore the Buda Castle Labyrinth, an enormous underground cave system that requires an expert guide, so you do not get lost.
Budapest has more thermal springs than any other capital city in the world with 15 public thermal baths to visit, not counting the spas at the luxury hotels! Some of the public baths are in green areas which give the added advantage of being able to extend a visit with other relaxing and recreational activities.
The city is crammed with historic buildings, monuments and locations from the huge Parliament building, the Liberty Statue to the vast expanse of Heroes’ Square which leads onto the City Park.
Budapest offers a large and diverse cityscape and every square mile reveals something special to the visitor.
